Evan's 5th Birthday - Milky Way Farms

We held Evan's 5th birthday party at Chester Spring Creamery and Milky Way Farms.  It was a little different than the standard party we are used to but we decided to take our chances with the weather and plan something that would be partially outside. Thankfully the weather held up for us. The party started off at the creamery, where the kids did a farm craft and followed that with pizza and ice cream.  Here is Evan with Deedee just as the party was starting:
Time to sing to the birthday boy:
And blow out the candle:
After the food was eaten, we headed off to a tour of the farm by the farmer.  Here is our group gathering for the tour:

Next it was onto feeding the baby cows - both Morgan and Claire below:

Mother's Day 2015 at Tyler Arboretum

For Mother's Day, I took the boys to Tyler Arboretum since Brian has a fractured ankle.  We met up with friends there so the kids could run around and enjoy the beautiful weather.  Here they are, pausing for a quick second for a photo:
Evan, just like his mother, leading the way and "reading" the map to guide us:
This is how Eric generally feels about photos:
The lilacs were incredible and smelled even better than they looked:
Now a little more camera friendly:
Hopping from tree trunk to tree trunk:
All of the kids:

Eric on the smaller chair:
All in all, it was a nice, relaxing Mother's Day.  We have a busy few months ahead so it was even more important to enjoy a nice day together!

Eric's 3 Year Old Stats

Eric's three year old stats are long overdue.  We had his visit back in March!  Eric weighed in at a whopping 27 lbs (11th percentile) and measured exactly 3 feet tall (19th percentile).  The doctor was hoping he would have gained more than 2 lbs since his visit at age 2, so she asked that we make sure he eats more and gets some more weight on him.  Now we are reverting and feeding him whatever he will eat . . . which means he's eating less and less variety of food.  I feel like we are in a no-win situation but we need to get some weight on him.

Eric is your typical 3 year old.  He loves all things Cars, trucks, trains and planes.  Lightening McQueen is his go-to toy and thankfully we have several of them.  He loves riding his ride-on gator around the yard and now can take his scooter all the way around the neighborhood.  He loves music and will sing at the top of his lungs . . . making up the words with the best of them.  I think it's safe to say Eric will not be the next American Idol but he has fun belting out songs.  Just the other day, we were at the zoo and he was singing a Kanye West / Rihanna songs at the top of his lungs.  He definitely takes after his dad with his love of music.

Eric is starting this "threenage" year.  His temper can get the best of him at times and he's testing us.  He and his brother are very physical together and he's usually on the losing end of their battles.  He makes sure to tell us when he's not happy.  He constantly says "You are CHEATING" when he doesn't like what we're doing.  I'm not sure what he thinks "cheating" means but he's not using it in the right context, which is adorable!

At school, Eric is doing great.  He knows all of his letters by sight and in sign language with his own hands.  Whereas I had to work with Evan for him to learn the letters of the alphabet at this age, Eric has known them for a few months now.  It's interesting to see how they differ because Evan had a 70 page book memorized at this age and Eric does not have that skill.  They continue to be so totally different . . . and Eric is still a mini-me of his father in almost all ways.
We love our little man and can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Easter 2015

Easter 2015 was a little bit of a whirlwind.  On Friday night, we went out to dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday.  Saturday morning, we took the boys to a trampoline place, looked at some houses for sale, dyed Easter eggs and then I took the boys to NJ to celebrate Easter.  Brian stayed behind to work on our house in peace and quiet.  Here is Eric working on the Easter eggs with Brian's help:
Evan was able to do it all by himself:
The Easter bunny arrived at Deedee & Pops' house on Sunday morning:
Evan had fun looking for eggs:
After we got dressed, we headed outside for some pictures.  They actually cooperated!
Evan is looking so old in this photo:
And this guy is just too cute:
We did brunch and dinner with my mom's extend family before getting home at 8:30 PM.  It was a fun, but long, day and I could have used a day to recover from my weekend.  Happy Easter!

Easter Egg Hunt

In the never-ending winter temps, we headed over to West Goshen township park for their annual Easter egg hunt.  The field was very wet, the air was very cold but we tried our best to have fun.  Here is Eric with our neighbor Owen and his best friend Brennan, waiting for the 2-3 year old egg hunt:
Eric had fun collecting his eggs:

Then it was onto the 4-6 year olds.  There were so many people, it was insane.  Evan did very well keeping up with the kids.  Here is posting with his cheesy-smile after he was done:

And another of Eric:
Here's to hoping the warm weather is on its way!

St Patrick's Day 2015

Not much to say on this one - just some pictures from St. Patrick's Day.  Eric was too cute in his festive shirt:
And the 4T St Patty's Day shirt that should have fit Evan was looking like a belly shirt, so he went to school in just plain green:
And all of the Felt boys in their green:

Eric's 3rd Birthday

Eric turned 3 years old this past Friday!  He really understood what it meant to be his birthday this year and was talking about it all week with us.  Nana & Papa arrived with Morgan on Friday night.  After dinner, they gave him his present - a new Lightening McQueen bicycle!
After playing outside, it was inside for some singing and cupcakes:
We had a small bounce-house birthday party on Saturday morning.  We did a Disney Cars theme.  I love these personalize edible cupcake toppers that I got on Etsy:

Cousins, Matthew & Evan
Eric doesn't want to pose for pictures lately, so we had to hang him upside down to get a picture with his best friend, Brennan:

More of the cupcakes:
Couldn't get a good shot of the whole group:
Getting ready to sing:
During the singing, our friend was singing quite comically and Eric just kept watching him:
Blew the candle out on the first try! On the night before, he spent 5 minutes and couldn't blow it out, so we were all surprised:
Sunday morning couch time with Nana:
And Sunday afternoon, Brian, Morgan, Evan and I went ice skating.  We had tried it in the year prior with Evan and he didn't like it too much.  This year, he definitely enjoyed it more and Morgan did really well too:
More to come on Eric's 3 year stats soon but I'll give you a sneak peak. . . he's still short and too skinny :(
