More of "One Year Later"

We didn't have this blog going when Evan was first born, so we don't have as many of his early pictures up here. So, whenever we get a chance, I'll be posting some older pics. So here we are again at the beach a year ago with an 8-week-old Evan: And here we are again one year later:

Still More From the Beach

Lots more pictures from our trip, which has sadly come to an end.
We started this tradition last year and, if we can keep it up, it should be fun to see Evan's footprints grow each year:On Thursday, we decided to head on over to Jockey Ridge State Park, which is a park with enormous sand dunes. Evan was more than happy to have his dad do all of the work with the hike up:Keira & Wyatt had a blast mountain climbing up these dunes:The group (minus me) at the top. It was great that we could get more than half of the house out to this fun park:

Just sitting on the deck at night - Evan loved seeing the planes go by that dragged the signs behind them.
I really like this one of me and Evan:
We took an evening walk with 4 of the kids on Friday night. Keira & Wyatt certainly make a cute couple:

Family photo on the beach:
One on the stairs:And our attempt to get a picture of all of the kids at once. Our friends Dan & Lindsay made OBX shirts with Frisbee players on them, with a caption of "2035 Nationals Champs". This team right here would meet the requirements for a co-ed team (4 guys, 3 girls) and very well may have it in their genes to win Nationals :)
Another one of the group - nearly impossible. If only we had a video tape of the parents as we tried to get this shot. We were dripping with sweat by the end.
There may be a few more pictures to post in the coming days. I just couldn't stop snapping away as we were all having such a fun time together. Back to work tomorrow . . .

One Year Later

The picture on the left is from the OBX in July of last year, compared to June of this year. It's crazy what a difference a year makes!

The Fun Continues . . .

This little boy can't get enough of the ocean. He wants to be in it at all times!Family photo:Brian dug a hole for Evan to stand in. This picture makes it looks like Evan proudly dug the hole himself with a little shovel:Trying to work on my photography - had to edit this photo a bunch and the horizon shouldn't be slanted, but I do really like this shot a lot. Evan has just taken off with his walking and is even doing well on the beach with it!Evan & his mommy:Another with his daddy. This is all he wants to do!And what would a vacation with frisbee friends be without some frisbee? Not sure if you can even see it in this picture, but Brian is just catching the disc. This picture was taken around noon - you can see how completely empty the beach is. It is perfect here:

I just wish the week wasn't already more than halfway over :(

Beach Days

We are so lucky to be on vacation this week! And our little water baby continues to love the water. Here is with his dad, dipping his toes in the ocean:Braving the big waves, giggling every time his dad jumped over a wave with him:He didn't even mind the sand at all - took all of 2 seconds before he was covered from head to toe:A friendly game of wiffle ball by the pool:Relaxing in the baby pool. This pool is great - it's always warm and is up to Evan's shoulders if he's standing. Perfect for this little ones (and for the parents who don't want to go in the colder, big pool):Lounging on a beach chair:

More to come . . .

Next Nolan Ryan??

I think we have a little athlete on our hands and I want to post this video just in case we have given birth to the next Nolan Ryan or Cliff Lee. A girl can dream, right? This proud mom thinks this is pretty good for a 1-year-old. He's still not walking but he certainly can throw a ball!

Matthew's 2nd Birthday Party

We celebrated my nephew Matthew's 2nd birthday party this past weekend. His birthday is not until the end of the month but my sister planned the party a few weeks early because her due-date was at the end of the month. I guess little Claire decided to foil her mother's planning with her early arrival! Regardless, we had a great time celebrating!

Matthew on the balance beam with his Pops:Cousin Mary looks like she is preparing to be a gymnast like her mother, Christa:Pure joy as Matthew played ball with his Uncle Brian:More joy as Evan enjoyed the bounce house:Here is an attempted pic of about half of the guests. Everyone had a great time!

Simple Pleasures

This past week, Evan has gotten exposed to some of life's simple pleasures.
First up: BUBBLES!

They say dog is man's best friend. In the case of our little man, this couldn't be any more true.Evan has recently learned how to give hugs :)What's cuter than Evan with a dog? That would be Evan with a puppy! And this cutie is our nephew Matthew. So handsome!

Baby Tossing

We were lucky to have our niece Morgan make the trip with Janet & Vinnie for Evan's baptism. She loves getting tossed around by her Uncle Brian . . . literally. And yes, this is becoming our favorite photo to take: Morgan is such a great cousin to Evan - always watching over him. Here is Evan showing off his standing skills proudly:Uncle Brian being silly - it's no problem to hold 3 kids:A photo of my mom, sister & me:Pa Vinnie with 3 kids on his lap:We had a great time with everyone visiting that weekend - it just took me awhile to get the pictures from it up here!

Megan's Maternity Shots

I was lucky to become an aunt for the 3rd time last week when my sister gave birth to a baby girl, Claire Annabelle on May 26, 2011. And she had asked me to take some maternity photos for her a few days before her baby was born. I am no expert photographer but here was my attempt:
Here is the whole family:And one with my nephew Matthew and my sister. I learned in photography class not to ever chop someone off in a photo at the neck . . . oops! But the picture was so cute that I'm putting it up anyway!
Also, just so that I have it forever saved here, my friend Bri took some great maternity photos of me when I was pregnant with Evan. Comparing hers to mine shows how much I really have to learn. I have yet to even really try to learn the art of photo editing. And yes, my sister and I are wearing the same black shirt in these pictures:
